Meet Dana

Dana NeutsIn every classroom, there is a kid who loves new school supplies, wants to help the teacher or help her classmates with their work. That same kid is often the one who gets asked to proofread, correct papers or organize groups. That kid was me. Yes, I’m a word nerd and proud of it.

After earning a degree in business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University, I took those skills – and my background in financial services – and turned them into a full-time business. I started freelancing part time in 2003, and turned Virtually Yourz as a full-time business in 2004. The company has grown and evolved since then.

I am currently studying for a master’s degree in management and leadership at Western Governors University. I anticipate graduating at the end of December 2020. While a master’s is not required for much of my work, I want to teach communications at the community college level, and this degree will help move along that path.

Writing:  Prior to working for the City of Kent, Washington, I was a full-time freelance writer, writing for publication as well as for clients around the country. I have published thousands of articles in several dozen publications. I currently serve as the senior staff writer for Subscription Insider, writing daily news stories, weekly features and premium content for the subscription industry. Published articles can be found on my portfolio page or by googling Dana Neuts or Dana Blozis.

Editing:  I have edited half a dozen nonfiction and fiction books. I’ve also edited business plans, municipal documents, marketing copy, website copy, white papers, a trivia game and more. If it contains words, I can edit and proofread it. I am proficient at AP style and have good working knowledge of APA style.

Marketing:  I provide marketing services to small businesses and nonprofits. I specialize in social media marketing; marketing consultation; writing marketing copy, ads, ad scripts and press releases; email marketing; public relations; and marketing planning and consultation.

Specialties: I believe in working collaboratively with my clients, offering them options, ideas and a menu of services from which to choose. Each package of services it tailored to their unique needs and budget.

Among my specialties is taking complex, detailed information and distilling it down into something that is easily digestible and understood by the intended audience. I also specialize in helping my clients feel comfortable telling their stories whether through web content, social media posts or email marketing.
